Behind the Scenes Tours

Behind the Adventure – A Science and Technology Tour of Universal’s Islands of Adventure® - Students now have the opportunity to discover the sciences used to create the world’s most technologically-advanced theme park! The Behind the Adventure Tour showcases the physics, technology and general sciences that went into creating the most popular attractions at Islands of Adventure.

Special F/X Tour – Discover the Secrets of Movie Magic - Through this interactive tour of Universal Studios®, students will learn about the arts and sciences used to create movie magic. Highlights include behind-the-scenes access to Revenge of the Mummy® and Twister…Ride It Out®. You’ll also learn about the art of movie make-up and about set design secrets.

School of Rock – You’ll tour the Hard Rock Hotel® and learn what goes into making a business run, what challenges are involved and discover many of the career opportunities awaiting in the hospitality industry. Lunch, prepared by one of the executive chefs, is included with this program.

The First Hand Learning Series

Acclaimed experts share some of the secrets of their trades. These one-hour programs provide students with an insider’s look at different careers and how their classroom lessons apply to the real world.

Ride Design – An in-depth discussion of the ride design process. Students will meet engineers from Universal Creative to learn about the process of creating attractions and witness technologies to be used in future attractions.

Marketing and Sales – Discover some of the methods used by Universal Orlando® to promote the resort. Topics include advertising, promotions, brand marketing and marketing research.

Culinary Arts – Take a tour of several professional kitchens and learn about careers in the culinary arts field. Top it off with a slice of pizza from one of the kitchens you’ll tour.

Career Preparation – Build a foundation for success in the classroom and workplace. Students will meet Universal Orlando Staffing Recruiters to learn about how to build a successful cover letter/resume as well as discuss topics regarding responsible social networking, professional etiquette, leadership and effective ways to market yourself to potential employers.

Performing Arts Workshops – Choose from Audition Technique or Improv Technique Other Topics Available including: Finance and Guest Service.

Assembly Programs

Anne Frank: Through the Eyes of a Friend - This live performance allows audiences to witness the pain, loss and hope of young people during the Holocaust. This moving program is a poignant portrait of friendship and survival, brought to life through the eyes of Anne Frank’s best friend.  Call or email for dates and availability.

The Right to Dream - This live performance tells a compelling story about the struggle and sacrifice for civil rights in America. Witness a young man’s coming of age as an African-American in Mississippi during the 1950’s and 1960’s. This program illuminates the issues of civil rights, leading audiences to understand how the fight against prejudice has shaped our history.

Disney’s World of Physics: Properties of Motion—Youth Education Series Ages 8-18 - Explore the physics concept of mechanics at select Magic Kingdom® Park attractions. This interactive program casts students into the role of Theme Park scientists as they enjoy hands-on examinations and activities of the basic properties of force, motion and gravity.

Disney’s World of Physics: Energy and Waves —Youth Education Series Ages 10-18 - This physics lesson explores the use of sound and light as well as teaches how magnetism is used on a truly Screamin' rollercoaster. Students see how energy of light and sound come together to create amazing Disney magic.

Disney’s World of Physics: Energy and Waves —Youth Education Series Ages 8-18 - Experience the Magic Kingdom® Park through an exploration of the science of light and sound. This interactive adventure studies select attractions to showcase the physics concepts of optics and acoustics, and their application in a real-world context.

Synergy in Science—Youth Education Series Ages 6-11 - Take an in-depth exploration of the interaction between creativity and technology. By investigating technologies at work in Epcot® attractions, students discover the magic behind entertainment technology and its application to daily life.

Disney’s Ocean Discoveries—Youth Education Series Ages 8-15 - Explore diverse marine environments with educators from The Seas with Nemo & Friends. As future environmental leaders, students learn about conservation challenges affecting marine habitats and marine life. This interactive program inspires students to be leaders in ocean conservation no matter where they live.

Millenium Cultures—Youth Education Series Ages 9-15 - Discover how cultural gateways have been created through technology, communication and commerce. The culturally authentic pavilions of World Showcase serve as the backdrop for this interactive study of people and places around the world. Students learn that while cultures vary, all people share similar needs and interests in the global community.

The American Story —Youth Education Series Ages 8-18 - Live the rich history of the United States of America through the stories and attractions in Liberty Square and Frontierland®. Students gain an understanding of the conflicts and resolutions of the nation's people, as they strived to make E Pluribus Unum a way of life.

Team Up for Wildlife—Youth Education Series Ages 11-18 - Travel throughout Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park and experience select attractions to discover how diverse people and animals respond to conservation challenges in the ever-changing world in which we live.

Disney’s Wild by Nature—Youth Education Series Ages 7-15 - Experience the world of Disney's African Cats by exploring the fascinating and surprising world of animal behavior! Through data collection, animal observations, select attractions and hands-on activities, students learn how lions, cheetahs and a vast array of other animals utilize their natural adaptations to help them survive.

Disney’s Leadership Excellence: The Inside Track —Youth Education Series Ages 14-18 - Go to the head of the class, as current students become tomorrow's business leaders. Students investigate proven management strategies employed within The Walt Disney Company, see how effective leadership produces innovation and identify tactics they can adapt to help promote their own personal and professional success.

Making Waves with a Marine Career —Youth Education Series Ages 14-18 - Get a behind-the-scenes look at a variety of marine careers. Students discover the exciting world of marine mammal training, water sciences, aquarium and animal care, aquatic research, and conservation education.

Career Discovery —Youth Education Series Ages 11-16 - Blast off in search of career path insights. Students discover how to navigate unexpected career highs and lows as they identify barriers to career development and formulate strategies for personal and professional success. School-to-work training has never been this much fun.

Magic Behind the Show: Improv and Teamwork—Youth Education Series Ages 11-18 - During this entertainment adventure, students participate in improvisational activities, practice and develop performance and team-building techniques, and come to know one another as members of a creative team. Using their new knowledge, they then perform a unique improvisational production.

Disney’s Animation Magic—Youth Education Series Ages 8-18 - Students get an inside look at Disney animation while learning the artistic and technical sides of the process. This knowledge is then applied when they get the opportunity to explore their creativity while planning and designing their very own storyboard.

Disney’s Production Arts and Sciences—Youth Education Series Ages 11-16 - Acting as makers and marketers of visual media, students learn how technologies, techniques and storyboarding are shaping today's media and influencing audiences of all ages.
